Exterior Colour Scheme

Colour is an essential contributor to the look and style of the home. Paint gives the first impression, highlights a building’s best features and conceals its not so good ones. But it can be a costly exercise, both in time and money, so you want to not only choose the right scheme but one that will look great for years to come.
the important considerations are

  • your home’s setting - what is close by, what is next door that may impact your colour.
  • What are the main features and existing colours on and around your home that can’t be changed, such as the roof, brickwork, timber joinery or aluminium window framing.
  • The style of home also needs to be considered, especially if it is a heritage home and requires a selection from approved heritage colours.
  • A classic scheme of two colours - light neutrals or soft blues or grey on the walls with a white trim is always clean and fresh. Picking out window frames, fretwork and other architectural details in crisp white - the classic Hamptons feel.
  • Colours inspired by Australia are great in most modern settings, taking cues from the surrounding landscapes, warm ochres, grey and browns, incorporating with textural timber, brick and stone. This type of colour scheme can add warmth and interest to contemporary architecture.
  • Is the facade dated and tired? Modern and contemporary colours can make all the difference

How many colours should you have? - usually three to four is enough.
So lets get to work. Once the scheme is selected I will send you A4 copies of the colours
